Nov 21, 2014 - Several Chinese firms are awaiting environmental approvals so that they can initiate construction of six wind farms, totalling 1,050 MW, in Gansu province's Huan county.
The Soil and Water Conservation division of the Gansu Provincial Water Resources Bureau is expected to soon give its approval for the six projects, Gansu Daily said today. They are estimated to require a total investment of CNY 8.1 billion (USD 1.32bn/EUR 1.06bn).
The six parks will be of different capacities, including one 400-MW wind plant, two 200-MW and two 100-MW farms and one more of 50 MW. Among the developers is a Huan county-based unit of China Huadian Corp, as well as China Power Engineering Consulting Group and China Resources.
Construction will kick off immediately after the approvals are obtained, Gansu Daily added.
