(SeeNews) - Nov 6, 2013 - Offshore compensation payments under the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) will reach EUR 765.5 million (USD 1bn) in 2014, according to calculations by the transmission system operators (TSO) published on Monday.<br /><br /> The offshore liability apportionment, paid by consumers, was introduced under the EnWG in January 2013 with the purpose to cover the compensation costs which the TSO's pay to the offshore wind farm operators for their plants which have been installed but have not been connected to the grid.
