November 12 (Renewables Now) - German investment manager Commerz Real AG earlier this week announced its first investment in France with the purchase of an 18-MW wind farm in the country from renewables developer BayWa r.e. AG.

Commerz Real, part of German banking group Commerzbank Group, has purchased the asset for its Klimavest impact fund.

The Tout Vent wind farm is located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and consists of six turbines which were put into operation in August 2021. The facility will produce enough electricity to supply over 11,000 households in France and save 6,700 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually.

The wind farm has a state feed-in tariff in place for 20 years.

Commerz Real noted that it plans more acquisitions of wind and solar projects in France.
