China Windpower to launch 50 MW offshore project in 2011
(ADPnews) - Oct 18, 2010 - China Windpower Group Limited (HKG:0182) is planning to launch a 50 MW wind project in China in 2011, the group's vice president Yu Weizhou said today.
This will be the firm's first offshore wind project in Nantong and in the Jiangsu province.
The firm currently has 22 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 1,213 MW. It intends to raise this capacity by over 650 MW as early as 2010 and to invest CNY 5 billion (USD 753m/EUR 542m) in this undertaking.
In a longer-term plan, China Windpower will be lifting its capacity by 700 MW each year, so that it reaches 5,000 MW in 2015, the company's vice president said.
