China Windpower makes USD 116m equipment orders for three wind farms

Nov 16, 2011 - China Windpower Group Ltd (HKG:0182) yesterday said it had placed equipment orders totalling CNY 738 million (USD 116m/EUR 87m) to local wind turbine makers for three wind farms of 49.5 MW capacity each.

China Windpower's unit Tianjin Century Concord Huaxing Wind Power Equipment Co signed the contracts with Sinovel Wind Group (SHA:601558) and sector player Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co (SHE:002202, HKG:2208).

Under the agreements, Sinovel will supply turbines for two wind farms in the province of Jilin for CNY 500.2 million, while Goldwind will provide turbines for a wind farm in the province of Liaoning for CNY 237.5 million.
