China Longyuan to build 150 MW of Yunnan wind farms
Oct 13, 2014 - Power producer China Longyuan Power Group Corp Ltd (HKG:0916) has agreed to install 150 MW of wind capacity in Yunnan province and has made progress with projects in other regions of China, its parent said today.
State-owned power generation firm China Guodian Corp announced in a statement that its unit had sealed a deal with the local government of Gejiu city to develop 150 MW of wind projects there.
Meanwhile, China Longyuan has also broken ground on a 48.5-MW wind farm in Shaanxi province. Located in Fengxian county, the plant will be equipped with 17 turbines of 2.5-MW capacity each, along with four 1.5-MW units. With this addition, China Longyuan’s installed capacity in the province will reach 296 MW.
Moving to Anhui province, the Chinese wind firm has also successfully hooked to the grid 21 of the 23 wind turbines at a 48.3-MW wind park. China Guodian said in a separate statement that another subsidiary in the same province has been given the green light by the Anhui Province Development and Reform Commission for a 48-MW wind scheme.
