China Energy Engineering to build waste power plant in Ukraine

March 11 (Renewables Now) - China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd (HKG:3996) on Monday announced it will build the Karsa waste-to-energy plant in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The Chinese state-owned energy group said its two subsidiaries had signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth around USD 238 million (EUR 210.2m) and with a term of 36 months.

Information on the customer has not been provided.

The company will be in charge of the design and construction of two 750-tonne units at the Kyiv site, as well as provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services afterwards.

The power plant will incinerate waste and be capable of processing 1,500 tonnes of garbage per day, China Energy Engineering said.
