May 25, 2022 18:44 CESTJanuary 21 (Renewables Now) - A joint venture between units of oil giant Chevron Corp (NYSE:CVX) and waste solutions provider Brightmark LLC plans to build an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility at a ranch in California to produce renewable natural gas (RNG).
The JV, called Brightmark RNG Holdings LLC, intends to construct the anaerobic digester at the Vlot Calf Ranch and dairy farm in Chowchilla.
There, the facility will capture, clean and convert methane from manure into RNG. Other renewable products to come from the facility include recycled water, biofertiliser and digested dairy fibre.
The Vlot Calf Ranch project is Brightmark’s largest RNG project to date and the first one in its home state of California. It should be completed in 2023.
