Chevrolet to invest USD 40m in clean energy projects in America

(ADPnews) - Nov 19, 2010 - US car maker Chevrolet, a unit of General Motors (NYSE:GM), said yesterday it will invest USD 40 million (EUR 29m) in clean energy projects throughout America over the next three to five years.

The company plans to provide energy-efficient technology such as smart energy sensors and solar panels to schools and other community-based facilities, support wind farms and solar projects, as well as capture flammable methane from community landfills that can deliver clean energy to the grid.

Chevrolet aims to offset 8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions over the next few years.
