Ceres’ chief scientific officer gives up executive functions

Oct 12, 2012 - US energy crop seeds developer Ceres Inc (NASDAQ:CERE) said Thursday its chief scientific officer will give up his executive functions and will become the company’s chief scientific advisor.

Flavell, 69, will remain member of Ceres board of directors and his new role will be to consult the company on commercial bioenergy crops. The decision to move to the advisory role is prompted by his willingness to dedicate more time to scientific projects and policymaking.

Flavell has been working with Ceres since 1998 and has been involved in the establishment and development of the company’s technology platforms in the fields of genomics of the plants and biotechnology.
