Canadian Nova Scotia Power puts in operation part of 30-MW wind farm
(ADPnews) - Nov 26, 2010 - Canadian utility Nova Scotia Power commissioned this week 10 turbines of its 30-MW Digby Neck wind farm in eastern Canada's province Nova Scotia.
The farm would be fully operational by the end of the year, the company said in a statement yesterday.
The project includes a total of 20 turbines that will generate power enough to supply 10,000 households and offset 60,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, according to the utility. A substation and a 17-km (10.6 miles) transmission line are also part of the project.
