Canadian Alter NRG wins testing services project in US
(ADPnews) - Sep 24, 2010 - Canadian plasma gasification and geoexchange technology company Alter NRG Corp (TSE:NRG) said Wednesday it will provide testing services to US ethanol producer Coskata Inc for further 22 months.
Coskata will pay Alter NRG up to USD 5.6 million (EUR 4m) if all contemplated tests are performed. The sum includes fixed monthly payments totalling USD 2.46 million over the extended period.
According to the two companies' extended agreement, Alter NRG's wholly owned subsidiary Westinghouse Plasma Corporation will continue to provide testing services at the Project Lighthouse ethanol plant. The latter is a commercial demonstration facility developed by Coskata and using a Westinghouse gasification solution to turn biomass (woodchips) into ethanol. It is operational since late 2009.
