Brazil's antitrust regulator Cade has approved, without restrictions, the acquisition of local distributed generation (DG) firm Alsol Energias Renovaveis SA by electricity distributor Energisa SA (BVMF:ENGI3).
Under the terms of the sale contract, Energisa is buying an 87% stake in Alsol from Algar SA Empreendimentos e Participacoes and Gustavo Malagoli Buiatti. Energisa is paying BRL 11.7 million (USD 2.9m/EUR 2.6m) for the controlling stake, the company stated previously.
According to both companies, this deal allows the expansion and diversification of the Energisa Group's business in the Brazilian electricity sector and at the same time boosts Alsol's development capacity.
Energisa acts in several areas including the services related to the operation and maintenance (O&M) of generation, distribution and transmission companies. Alsol specialises in the development of renewable DG energy solutions, including solar power, biodiesel, biogas and energy storage, for residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas.
