German port logistics specialist Buss Offshore Solutions GmbH & Co KG is getting ready to buy a stake in Hamburg-based offshore wind service company Windea Offshore GmbH & Co KG.
The Buss Group company has entered into an agreement for the planned purchase with Windea’s existing shareholders, namely Bernhard Schulte Offshore GmbH, EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH and SSC Wind EMEA GmbH. The trio created the firm in May 2011 as a joint service platform for their offshore wind operations.
Under the terms of the deal, Buss Offshore Solutions will become a shareholder in Windea as from January 1, 2018. The announcement does not reveal the size of the stake Buss Offshore Solutions will get.
Windea serves as a joint sales and synergy centre for offshore wind projects. It provides ship services with its own vehicle fleets, other maritime and nautical services, wind technology, port and logistics services.
"Buss does not only operate the important offshore terminals in Eemshaven and Sassnitz, but furthermore brings an extensive knowledge, relevant experience and an excellent reputation in project management, terminal logistics and component consolidation. Such is an ideal complement to our existing service portfolio,” said Caspar Spreter von Kreudenstein, CEO of Windea.
