US wind industry supplier Broadwind Energy Inc (NASDAQ:BWEN) said on Thursday it has obtained orders worth a total of USD 15 million (EUR 13.6m) for the supply of turbine towers.
Broadwind said it will manufacture these towers at its factory in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Delivery is scheduled for next year. The company disclosed neither the name of the customer, nor the value of the contract.
“There is a lot of positive momentum occurring within our Towers business as we continue to benefit from the strong wind market dynamics in the U.S. Our plants are running smoothly and we continue to deliver exceptional quality towers ahead of schedule," said president and CEO Stephanie Kushner.
Earlier this month, Broadwind announced new tower orders valued at a total of USD 11 million from a local wind turbine manufacturer, whose name was not given.
