Broadwind bags wind tower order worth USD 19m

US wind industry supplier Broadwind (NASDAQ:BWEN) has won a USD-19-million (EUR 17.4m) tower order from a wind turbine manufacturer, whose name was not mentioned.

Broadwind anticipates delivering the tower sections through early next year and generating most of the revenue in the fourth quarter of 2020. It noted that with this order it has roughly 80% of its full-year 2020 tower production capacity in backlog.

Eric Blashford, the president and CEO of Broadwind, commented that demand for the company’s wind tower sections remains at an improved level as global investment in project development increases.

“In 2020, we anticipate the United States will add nearly 15 GW of onshore wind capacity, an increase of more than 40% compared to the prior year,” he said.
