British group Briggs Marine announced on Monday that it has taken a majority interest in Scottish onshore wind turbine inspection, testing and certification services provider ARB Wind Ltd, without indicating the size of the stake.
The Burntisland-based, family-owned marine and environmental services company will provide expertise and project management capabilities to expand ARB Wind's offering to offshore wind farms in addition to its existing onshore wind operations, in light of the rising number of wind farms in Scotland.
Founded in 2018, ARB Wind will remain an independent company retaining its network of regional, national and international partners. The business will continue to target growth in its established onshore wind markets, whilst working with Briggs in various upcoming bids with key offshore wind clients.
"Briggs is keen to build on its reputation for providing marine services across all aspects of the renewables industry and this new partnership with ARB Wind allows Briggs to provide a complete package in terms of maintenance services for wind farms, both above and below the waterline," Briggs Marine Contractors managing director Collieson Briggs said.
