Oct 27, 2011 - General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), or GE, said today it would be supplying 350 wind turbines of 1.6 MW to BP Wind Energy, part of energy group BP (LON:BP).
Including a five-year services agreement, the deal is worth USD 750 million (EUR 530m).
Houston-based BP Wind Energy has ordered 88 units, to be delivered this year, for its Mehoopany wind farm in Pennsylvania. It is also buying 262 turbines for the Flat Ridge 2 wind farm in Kansas. GE said the turbines for the Flat Ridge 2 development, which are to be delivered in 2012, were part of the USD 1.5 billion in wind turbine orders and commitments it unveiled on September 20.
