Boskalis signs cable repair deal for 1-GW offshore wind portfolio

Source: VBMS

August 17 (Renewables Now) - Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles has signed a five-year subsea cable repair framework agreement with Transmission Capital Partners (TCP), which operates the transmission links for more than 1 GW of offshore wind capacity.

The business previously known as VBMS will provide its cable integrity solutions from its Dutch certified cable storage facility in the port of Vlissingen, which has direct access to the North Sea.

TCP is the Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) of the links that transmit power to the UK onshore grid from six offshore wind farms: Barrow (90 MW), Gunfleet Sands (172 MW), Ormonde (150 MW), Robin Rigg (180 MW), Lincs (270 MW) and Westermost Rough (210 MW).

Boskalis noted that this latest framework agreement provides access to its universal joints, which are deployable for all of the cables within TCP’s portfolio.
