Canadian renewables developer Boralex Inc (TSE:BLX) said on Wednesday it will begin construction of the 10-MW Port Ryerse wind park in Norfolk County, Ontario, on June 13.
The CAD-38.4-million (USD 30.3m/EUR 26.6m) project involves erecting four turbines at a site to the east of the hamlet of Port Ryerse. The construction process, which will create jobs for up to 50 people, is expected to last about five months. Commissioning is scheduled for November 2016.
The company said it has developed the scheme in response to the government of Ontario's initiative to promote the development of renewable energy. It first unveiled the project alongside the 15-MW Moose Lake development when reporting its first quarter results last month. Work on the Moose Lake facility is also expected to start this year.
