Boralex, Gaz Metro buy rights on 69 MW wind project in Quebec
(ADPnews) - Nov 22, 2010 - Canadian renewable projects developer Boralex Inc (TSE:BLX) and Gaz Metro Eole Inc, a subsidiary of natural gas distributor Gaz Metro LP (TSE:GZM.UN), have acquired a 69 MW wind power project to be built in Quebec.
The consortium announced on Friday that it had also obtained the electricity supply agreement for the project inked with Canadian utility Hydro-Quebec in 2008.
The project remains subject to prior authorisation requirements and the conclusion of the agreements with the turbine suppliers, the contractor responsible for civil and electrical engineering works and the financing for this project.
That will be the third wind farm developed on Seigneurie de Beaupre private lands, belonging to the Seminaire de Quebec. When completed by December 2014, the whole Seigneurie de Beaupre wind site will have an installed capacity of 340 MW.
