Nov 9, 2011 - US green fuel producer BlueFire Renewables (OTC:BFRE) today unveiled the set up of a wholly-owned unit to produce cellulosic sugars for the biochemical and biofuel sectors.
The new company -- SucreSource -- aims to meet the growing market demand for cellulosic sugars, which used in the making of various products such as ethanol, biobutanol and ethyl levulinate. The subsidiary will use BlueFire's technology that breaks down cellulosic waste into its component sugars. The technology can use many and mixed feedstocks and does not use genetically modified organisms.
BlueFire said it was currently in talks with a number of potential customers and hoped to strike a deal soon.
