July 3 (Renewables Now) - US critical human infrastructure builder Black & Veatch announced on Tuesday it is reorganising its global power business to focus it more on renewables and distributed energy.

The company said in a statement that the changes being implemented realign the teams engaged in core generation, renewables, transmission and distributed energy to improve the way they address client demand in critical and diverse global geographies.

The reorganisation process includes the creation of a Distributed Energy operating group that concentrates strictly on distributed energy resources (DERs) and power distribution.

“Demand for renewable energy continues to grow, with its generation now impacting the operations of the traditional transmission and distribution sectors. Investments in distributed energy require a more flexible grid to ensure reliability and offer clients a greater choice of power generation solutions,” commented Mario Azar, president of Black & Veatch’s global power business.
