Biogas Nord joins research project to enhance biogas plant efficiency

(ADPnews) - Oct 1, 2010 - German biogas plants maker Biogas Nord AG (ETR:BG8) said yesterday it has become part of a research project aimed at enhancing biogas plant efficiency.

The project is supported by around EUR 1.7 million (USD 2.3m) state funds.

The subject of research will be the effect of enzymes and enzyme admixtures on biogas plants. Previous studies could not clarify all reaction mechanisms, so that will be the task of the present project.

The results from the research will be immediately implemented in the development of new biogas facilities, Biogas Nord said.

The project is led by the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim and Biogas Nord is one of altogether six partners in this undertaking, to be launched today and completed in three years' time.
