Banks Renewables, part of UK family-owned property and energy firm Banks Group, is seeking feedback from local communities on its plans for a 60-MW wind farm in East Ayrshire, Scotland.
The company has updated its plans for the Lethans wind farm extension after a consultation in June, including reducing the number of planned turbines from 11 to 10. The latest consultation period will continue until the beginning of December.
The wind farm is designed to supply with power over 38,000 households in the region and save about 30,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year. It is planned as an extension to the already approved Lethans wind farm, which will have a capacity of up to 105.6 MW.
