July 12 (Renewables Now) - A fund advised by Swiss sustainable infrastructure investment company B Capital Partners AG has agreed to acquire a 34.1% equity stake in two onshore wind projects in Finland with a combined capacity of 87 MW that are being implemented by Finnish developer Puhuri Oy.
The B Capital Energy Transition Infrastructure Fund will invest in the Kaukanen and Keso wind farms in a deal that marks its entry into the Finnish market, the Swiss company said on Monday.
Located in the Northern Ostrobothnia region about 500 km (310.7mi) north of the capital Helsinki and about 80 km apart, the two wind farms are planned to enter operation in early 2023.
Together, the parks are expected to generate 275 GWh of clean electricity which would be enough to supply about 19,000 Finnish households.
After the commissioning of the wind farms, Puhuri will take over their management under a long-term technical and commercial management agreement.
The Swiss company has already invested in wind and solar parks in Germany as well as in hydro assets in Norway.
