Aventine Renewable makes interim CEO, CFO permanent

Nov 23, 2011 - US ethanol producer Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings Inc (OTC:AVRW) said yesterday it had appointed its interim chief executive and interim chief financial officer to permanent positions.

John Castle, who has served as interim CEO since the retirement of the company's former chief Thomas Manuel in August 2011, has been appointed to the role of president and CEO. Castle joined Aventine in April 2010 as CFO. He was later promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Calvin Stewart, meanwhile, was appointed chief financial officer. Stewart stepped into that role on an interim basis also in August. He started at the company in September 2010 and was named chief accounting and compliance officer shortly afterward.
