Austrian wind firm orders 62 MW of Senvion turbines

Aug 31 (Renewables Now) - Austrian wind power producer Windkraft Simonsfeld AG has awarded contracts to Germany’s Senvion SA (ETR:SEN) for the supply of wind turbines with a combined capacity of 62 MW.

Windkraft Simonsfeld said in a press statement on Tuesday that it has purchased a total of 20 units, including four of the 3.4M140 model for the Poysdorf-Wilfersdorf V project, four of the 3.2M122 NES for the WP Duernkrut II scheme, two MM100 machines for the repowering project Hipples II, and 10 units of the 3.2M114 model for the Prinzendorf III repowering.

The Duernkrut II and Hipples II projects should be implemented next year, while the Poysdorf-Wilfersdorf V wind park is expected to be completed in 2019. The 10-turbine Prinzendorf III is seen to be realised in 2022.

The value of the contracts was not disclosed.
