Austrian Andritz to supply equipment for 35-MW biomass plant in Sweden
Sep 23, 2013 - Austrian technology group Andritz (WBAG:ANDR) said today its subsidiary Andritz Energy & Environment (AE&E) has been awarded a contract to supply key equipment for a 35 MW biomass plant by Swedish utility Mjoelby-Svartadalen Energi (MSE).
The order for the cogeneration plant includes a 35-MW fluidised bed boiler, a steam turbine and flu-gas cleaning system. The plant is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2015.
The Swedish utility said last week that the total investment in the biomass plant comes to SEK 350 million (USD 55m/EUR 40.7m), making it its largest project so far. The power plant will annually produce around 100 GWh of heat and 45 GWh of electricity for the Mjoelby district in southeast Sweden, MSE added in its press release.
