Australian Petratherm to investigate blockage at Paralana 2 well
(ADPnews) - Oct 8, 2010 - A joint venture of Australian geothermal company Petratherm Ltd (ASX:PTR), oil and gas company Beach Energy Limited (ASX:BPT) and energy provider TRUenergy Holdings Pty Ltd, on Wednesday said it sent a crew to investigate the cause for a well blockage at its Paralana 2 project in South Australia.
The blockage occurred at a 3,200 metres (10,500 feet) depth in August this year and held off the execution of the first stage of the project.
The crew will be investigating the blockage for three days and will release results from the exploration as well as a forward plan in a week time, the company said.
Last year, the joint venture partners completed the first two wells of the Paralana project. After completing Paralana 2, a further stage of the project, Paralana 3, is due.
