Brazil adds 515 MW of new wind, solar power in July
Aug 08, 2022 9:29 CESTOctober 27 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewable power retailer and project developer Capital Energy said that it has signed an agreement to supply renewable energy to professional football club Atletico de Madrid.
Under the agreement, Capital Energy will supply 9.5 GWh of renewable power per year during the next three seasons.
The contracted volume will be consumed by Atletico’s home stadium Wanda Metropolitano, the training facilities in Majadahonda and Alcala de Henares, the club’s foundation and official stores in the Madrid region, Capital Energy said.
Capital Energy currently has only one wind farm in operation in Spain. This year, the company was successful in Spain’s two renewable energy, securing most of the offered capacity in both rounds.
Outside of auctions, Capital Energy wants to the first 100% renewable energy-focused vertically integrated operator on the Iberian Peninsula. The company says it has around 35 GW of wind and solar projects in the development portfolio in Spain and Portugal.
