Arise Windpower to build two wind farms in southern Sweden
(ADPnews) - Dec 8, 2010 - Swedish company Arise Windpower AB (STO:AWP) said today it will start construction of two wind farms in southern Sweden, which are expected to be operational in the spring of 2011.
Each project comprises six V100 turbines by Danish major Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) with a total capacity of 10.8 MW.
With the Blekhem wind farm in the municipality of Vastervik and the Sodra Karra wind farm in the municipality of Askersund, Arise Windpower now has seven projects in southern Sweden. Thereby the total number of the company's wind turbines in the region, in operation or under construction, has increased to 58, with a total output capacity of 125 MW.
Arise Windpower has thus achieved its expansion target for 2010, the company said.
