Areva Wind to apply German experience in French offshore wind race - report
Oct 24, 2011 - Areva Wind, the wind power subsidiary of French nuclear group Areva (EPA:AREVA), will rely on the know-how of its German business in the first offshore wind tender in France, according to daily La Tribune.
Areva Wind, which is based in Hamburg, Germany, has considerable experience from its operations in the country.
In 2007, Areva acquired German company Multibrid and its plant in Bremerhaven which employs 500. The French company relies on a chain of suppliers throughout Germany, Jean Huby, director of Areva Wind, said.
Our objective is to assemble five or six wind turbines a month by the end of 2011, Huby added.
Areva Wind launched the 30 MW wind park Alpha Ventus in the North Sea and is currently working on another wind energy project, again in the North Sea.
