Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Jun 27-Jul 1)
Jul 01, 2022 17:05 CESTApril 4 (Renewables Now) - Finnish company Pohjoistuuli and its partners have offloaded a roughly 30-MW portfolio of Finnish onshore wind parks to Hamburg-based investment manager Aquila Capital.
The sale of the Tyrinselka assets was announced no Friday by Newsec Infra, which advised Pohjoistuuli in the transaction. The value of the deal remained under wraps.
The Tyrinselka portfolio is located in the southern Finnish region of Kanta-Hame and consists of two plants that were commissioned in 2016 and 2021, respectively. Four Nordex N131 turbines are powering the Tyrinselka I plant, while Tyrinselka II consists of Nordex N149/4.0-4.5 machines with a combined capacity of 17.2 MW.
The wind parks partly benefit from contracts under the Finnish Feed-in-Premium scheme. A portion of their output is being sold under a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with a local municipality utility.
Pohjoistuuli developed and built the wind farms and will continue to operate them on behalf of Aquila.
Finland-based onshore wind farm developer Megatuuli Oy assisted Pohjoistuuli during the land acquisition and permitting phase of the projects.
