Apex Clean Energy buys up-to-360-MW wind project in Texas

US renewables company Apex Clean Energy said on Friday it has bought the up to 360-MW Novus IV wind project in Texas from Oklahoma-based developer Novus Windpower LLC.

The acquired scheme calls for the construction of a wind park in Hansford County and Sherman County in the north Texas Panhandle. It could enter the construction stage as early as next year, according to Apex.

“The Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle region has some of the best wind in the country, and we are pleased to be partnering with Novus Windpower to bring this project through construction and into operations,” said Mark Goodwin, president of Apex.

The buyer did not mention how much it paid for the project.

Last year, Apex installed 1,042 MW of wind power capacity in the US.
