December 22 (Renewables Now) - All 56 turbines have been installed at the 353-MW Galloper offshore wind farm off the coast of Suffolk in the UK, German energy firm Innogy SE (ETR:IGY) said today.

The wind farm features Siemens Gamesa turbines of 6.3 MW, the first of which was installed in May this year. First power was generated in early November.

The focus now will be on completing the commissioning works, with the project expected to be finished in the spring of 2018, the German company said.

Innogy is in charge of the wind farm's construction and operation on behalf of the project partners, which also include Macquarie Capital, Sumitomo Corp (TYO:8053) and Siemens Financial Services.

"At 180 metres tall, these are the biggest offshore wind turbines we’ve installed to date plus we’ve installed them in water up to 36 metres deep, so quite a feat of engineering and construction," said project director Toby Edmonds.
