Aksa Enerji adds 24 MW to existing wind farm in Turkey

Nov 14, 2011 - Turkish power utility Aksa Enerji Uretim (IST:AKSEN.E) today announced putting on stream 24 MW of additional power capacity at its Samli wind farm, expanding the plant's total installed capacity to 114 MW.

Baki Elektrik Uretim Limited Sirketi, a unit of Aksa Enerji, is the wind farm's owner.

With the addition of 76 million kWh output expected from the 24 MW, the expanded wind farm is estimated to produce 340 million kWh of electricity a year, enough to supply 100,000 homes and save 200,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, according to Aksa Enerji.

Aksa Enerji's total installed wind energy capacity increased to 160 MW at its four wind farms.
