Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTAugust 6 (Renewables Now) - Norwegian offshore engineering and construction firms Aker Solutions ASA will spin off and list its offshore wind and carbon capture (CC) divisions.
The company said today that Aker Offshore Wind Holding AS and Aker Carbon Capture AS will secure funds for their future operations in private placements and list on the Oslo Stock Exchange’s Merkur Market. The financial advisors for the process are Carnegie AS and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB.
In the offshore wind industry, Aker is involved in projects in California, South Korea and Norway, and has plans to bid in the upcoming ScotWind lease round. In addition, the company is closely monitoring markets like Japan, Vietnam, France and Italy.
Astrid Onsum, former head of Wind Energy at Aker Solutions, will be the CEO of Aker Offshore Wind, while Henrik Madsen will serve as chairman.
