Green hydrogen developer Hydrogen of Dutch Origin (H2DO) has officially launched a project to deliver concept design for a 30-50 MW offshore green hydrogen installation in the Dutch North Sea.

German energy company RWE AG (ETR:RWE) has secured a certification from classification society DNV for the 660-MW Nordseecluster A wind farm in the North Sea, bringing the project closer to the start of turbine installation works.

If current political commitments were built, offshore wind farms would cover around 11% of the North Sea by 2050 compared to about 1% of the basin today, according to a study led by Heriot‑Watt University.

UK energy company SSE PLC (LON:SSE) on Wednesday said it has submitted additional information on the offshore consent application for its 800-MW Arklow Bank 2 offshore wind project in Ireland, including reducing the number of turbines from 56 to 53.

The German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO) has welcomed a proposed exemption of offshore wind from planned dynamic generation grid charges as well as the protection of existing and already awarded offshore wind projects from capacity-based fees.

Italian cable maker Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) has completed the installation of more than 450 km (279.6 miles) of high-voltage export cables for the 1.4-GW Sofia offshore wind farm project in the UK.
