Calpine, a business unit of US power producer Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CEG), has finalised a 25-MW expansion at The Geysers geothermal complex in California, adding enough generation capacity to supply electricity to more than 25,000 homes annually, Constellation said on Monday.

Coventina Renovables has secured 408 MW of grid access capacity for a pumped-storage hydroelectric project in Spain’s northwestern region of Galicia, after winning in a tender to connect new renewables to a substation that once served a now shuttered thermal power plant.

Spanish utility Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE) said on Sunday it had secured a one-year contract to supply 100% renewable electricity to the city of Toledo, covering 328 municipal supply points and annual electricity demand of 11 GWh.
