Calpine adds 25 MW to The Geysers geothermal complex in California

Calpine, a business unit of US power producer Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CEG), has finalised a 25-MW expansion at The Geysers geothermal complex in California, adding enough generation capacity to supply electricity to more than 25,000 homes annually, Constellation said on Monday.

Latin America and the Caribbean posted a 66% regional renewables share in January 2026, led by the rush of hydropower as output from solar, wind and geothermal plants declined from the previous month, according to a report published by the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) on June 4.
