September 16 (Renewables Now) - Wind and solar parks in Italy produced 31.55 TWh of electricity in January-August 2019, which was equal to 16.5% of net power production and 14.7% of total demand.

All renewable energy sources, hydropower included, covered 36.4% of Italy’s power consumption, according to statistics by power grid operator Terna SpA (BIT:TRN). In August 2019 alone, that share grew to 38% from 36% a year ago, due to higher solar and hydropower generation last month.
