November 9 (Renewables Now) - Athena Investments A/S (CPH:ATHENA) said today that it has completed the sale of its last remaining wind farm in Poland to a local private investor for the sum of EUR 0.5 million (USD 0.57m).

The Polczyno wind farm, which was commissioned in August 2006, uses 2 Enercon turbines with a total net capacity of 1.6 MW. When unveiling the deal earlier this week, chairman Luca Rovati commented that the particular facility has never been viewed as a strategic asset due to its small size.

That transaction leaves the company with no renewable energy assets in Poland. The funds secured from the sale will be reinvested in "profitable and accretive" assets, as Athena Investments indicated.
