UK wind power hits 27.44% share on Sep 16

September 17 (Renewables Now) - Wind farms in the UK produced 153,923 MWh of electricity on September 16, reaching a share of 27.44% in total power for the day.

Only nuclear power plants (NPPs) produced more -- 174,750 MWh -- recording a share of 31.15%.

Biomass power accounted for 6.84% of the country's total output.

In all, power plants in the UK produced 560,937 MWh that day, based on data by Elexon, the Balancing and Settlement Code Company (BSCCo). Power generation per source is available in the table.
