German municipal utilities group Trianel Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co KG (TEE) has acquired a 33.6-MW wind farm project in Brandenburg from domestic developer ABO Wind AG.
The Spreeau plant, once built, will be the largest wind farm in TEE’s portfolio, the company said on Wednesday. Following the acquisition, the value of which was not disclosed, TEE’s fleet of solar and wind power generation assets has grown to 235 MW.
ABO Wind is currently installing the Spreeau wind farm in the municipality of Spreenhagen, largely at the site of a commercial forest owned by the Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks (BImA). Eight Vestas V150-4.2MW turbines will be powering the plant, each with a hub height of almost 170 metres and a rotor diameter of 150 metres. Once up and running at the end of 2021, the machines are expected to generate around 110 million kWh of electricity per yeare This will be enough to cover the consumption of nearly 33,000 homes, the developer estimates.
The Spreeau wind park will be located in close proximity to the 66.4-MW Uckley wind farm, which TEE bought in 2016.
GORG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwalten mbB was TEE’s legal counsel in the deal.
