Total Solar DG to add 3.2 MWp of rooftop arrays for Ching Luh Group

Total Solar Distributed Generation (DG), a unit of French energy major Total SA (EPA:FP), will install 3.2 MWp of rooftop solar systems for sports footwear manufacturer Ching Luh Group in Vietnam.

The companies have signed an agreement that marks Total Solar DG’s entry into the Vietnamese market, the French firm said on Thursday. Under its terms, it will install photovoltaic (PV) arrays atop two of Ching Luh Group’s production sites, with capacities of 2 MWp and 1.2 MWp, respectively. Once up and running later this year, the installations will be capable of generating 4.4 GWh of electricity per year.

Over the 12-year term of the contract, the PV panels will help mitigate around 19,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, supporting Ching Luh Group's sustainability goals.

Total Solar DG has been active in Southeast Asia since 2018 and has a portfolio of operational solar assets in seven countries with a combined annual output of about 17 GWh. “Vietnam looks set to become one of the largest solar rooftop markets in the region," said Gavin Adda, CEO of Total Solar DG Southeast Asia.
