Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) delivered more than 2,500 units of its home battery solution, the Powerwall, in the first quarter (Q1) of 2016 across North America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
The product was presented by Tesla one year ago. The 6.4 kWh daily cycle battery, the one on which the company decided to focus after initially proposing two models, was advertised with a price tag of USD 3,000 (EUR 2,610). If calculations are based on that price, Q1 deliveries are worth around USD 7.5 million.
In its report for the first quarter of 2016, released Wednesday, Tesla also said it had delivered nearly 100 units of the Powerpack, a fully integrated battery storage solution for business and utility applications.
