Japanese trader Sojitz Corp (TYO:2768) announced today it has started the commercial operation of a 13.5-MW solar power park in Fukuoka prefecture.
The Iizuka Kamimio Solar Power Plant, as it is named, spreads over 258,042 square meters (2,777,541 sq ft). Its power output is estimated to meet the consumption of about 4,000 local homes.
The plant's generated power will be sold under a 20-year feed-in tariff (FiT) deal to local utility Kyushu Electric Power Co Inc.
