German wind farm developer PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNE3) has completed ahead of schedule installation of the 16 turbines at its 48.8-MW Koehlen wind park in Lower Saxony.
The company said today that half of the machines can start power generation immediately, while the commissioning of the remaining eight turbines is to be completed by end-September. Construction was concluded two weeks earlier than planned.
The wind farm uses 3-MW turbines of the type E101 by German company Enercon GmbH. They are estimated to produce as much power as 41,000 homes consume for a year.
In the first half of 2016 PNE commissioned, started construction of or sold wind farms with a total capacity of 97.8 MW.
