Aug 18 (Renewables Now) - Estonian firm Olsson & Nielssen Nordic OU plans to build a 1.2-MW direct current (DC) solar park in Estonia’s central county of Jarva, local newspaper Jarva Teataja said on Thursday.
The photovoltaic (PV) facility will be powered by 4,500 panels, planned to be installed in the town of Peetri. The solar array will be situated at the site of a former pig farming facility, the newspaper said, quoting businessman Aap Hirvesoo.
Construction works on the project are expected to be completed in November. Once operational, the PV plant will be able to produce about 1 GWh of electricity per year.
