Japanese engineering firm Kyowa Exeo Corp announced today it has completed the construction of a 1.27-MW photovoltaic (PV) system in Yamanashi prefecture.
The Hosaka Solar Power Plant, as it is named, was built on 21,855 sq m (235,245 sq ft) of land in Nirasaki city. It started selling its electricity on August 25, according to the company's press release.
With about 4,800 solar panels, the PV array can generate about 1.3 million kWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of some 390 local homes.
This was the fifth project Kyowa started in Yamanashi prefecture. Back in July the company began construction of a 1.14-MW PV system, the sixth in Yamanashi.
